The banner shows a Thymio robot. It is an EPFL Swiss invention used in education. It can be controlled and programmed remotely from anywhere on Earth and students can collaborate in solving and programming complex tasks.
Collège Champittet Computer Science students in Pully and Nyon with the support of EPFL researchers are currently working on a project where the robots are controlled remotely to simulate a Mars environment.
Students are also working with the researchers to train an AI engine to recognise different childrens' handwriting. The objective is for Thymios to use AI to recognise drawn directional instructions from young students.
